“Our local German biergarten and restaurant, this place has been a quiet success for more than 30 years. The interior is as close to Deutchland as you can probably get in North Texas, complete with oom-pah band and dance floor.
The food is truly exceptional and probably the best you’ll find here outside of Fredericksburg. Portions are generous (remember to lift with your legs). The deserts are so good they will truly kill you. No, really, they will…” (Click here to read entire review)

“True Bavarian charm resides at this unlikely location in west Fort Worth. The decor is “Bavarian Chalet,” with dark wood accents complementing brick and beige stucco walls. A bandstand located in the center of the dining area features a small dance floor for those who enjoy a good polka; children (and brave adults) often crowd the floor to participate in the “Chicken Dance…. The hearty platters of schnitzel, fried potatoes, sauerbraten and wurst are as authentic as the waiters’ lederhosen and the hostess’ accent. Most entrees come accompanied by combinations of tart red cabbage, tangy sauerkraut or delicate, mouthwatering spaetzle dumplings…” (Click to read entire review)

“It’s pretty much a party situation all the time. Edelweiss has been in Fort Worth since 1967. The food choices are vast including smoked ribs, chicken dishes, schnitzels, ham shanks, fondue, steaks, sauerbraten and seafood. All desserts are home made. Plenty of live entertainment.”

It made me feel like I was in Munich! The food was great and the music wonderful – but the over all atmosphere was even better. It was much more than a place to eat – it was like being part of a big, German family gathering.–by Janice Chapman from Bedford, TX
Had a lot of fun! Edelweiss has been in Fort Worth since before I was born…and it’s still going strong. Decent food and a great wine/beer list, but the atmosphere is what makes the visit. Bring your dancing shoes on the weekends for a little bit of polka. Visited recently and loved the whole experience.
Edelweiss Review The atmosphere was very authentic and great…Dinner was very delicious…This is my all time favorite restaurant!! If you get a chance, try it…You won’t be disappointed!– by Trisha from Fort Polk, La

Best Ever! After a trip to Germany, Switzerland and Austria a few years ago I was asked if I had good German food. My answer was the best German food that I have ever had was in Ft.Worth at the Edelweiss Restaurant.– Ginny
Travel Without The Flight After Serving 21 Years in the Military and 7 of these being in Germany, I feel that I can say this is as close as you will get without actually going there. Overall a 9.5!!!— Anonymous Diner
Edelweiss: A Fort Worth Tradition Bernd (the owner) has been doing the chicken dance and singing Roll Out the Barrel from the stage of this Fort Worth institution for a VERY long time. And it never gets old! My parents started going to Edelweiss in the late 60’s when they first moved to town, and when I came along, we spent just about every birthday that I can remember there, including my 21st! The service is excellent, and as a traveller who has been to Germany, Austria and Hungary, I can attest to the authenticity of the cuisine. It’s great, and I recommend this place highly.– George Bartel, Fort Worth, TX
Great place for great German food! I’ve been there many times and the best time to go is friday or saturday nights place is packed everyone is having fun talking, dancing, and just soaking up some good german fun. And great texas sized german food. Must go to atleast once if in the area.– Pickens, SC
A family tradition! Huge portions, great German entertainment. Very nice German atmosphere. Don’t go unless you want to have fun. If you are looking for a serious atmosphere then this isn;t the place for you. The food is excellent!!!— Mansfield, TX
My favorite place!!!!!!!!! Wonderful, authentic, friendly and relaxing. The only problem is there is only one of these in the whole world! I first went about 35 years ago and after moving back to the area went about four years ago (and go back each time I pass within 50 miles of Fort Worth) and have found it to be just as good as ever!! Everyone is friendly and it feels like going home. Great entertainment, superb service and wonderful food! The only Five Star Rating I have ever awarded!— Pat from Texas
We will dine here many more times!!! Excellent all around. Just a wonderful place to send an evening. Great music, food and etc.– Arthur Koerber from Buffalo, NY & Bedford, TX
WUNDERBAR!!! Outstanding service and wonderful food. I loved the music and ambience. The Owner and his staff made me feel like I had taken a trip back to Germany. A delightful and fun experience.– L.S. from Eugene, OR
The Best in Texas!!! This is the best place to eat, drink and be entertained in Texas. The food is the best.– Michelle fisher, Irving, TX
Edelweiss Restaurant Review: I’ve been a regular customer of Edelweiss for about ten years now, and have never had a bad experience there (and if I had I’m sure Bernd the owner would have made it right immediately). I heartily recommend the food, the entertainment, the service and the atmosphere to both Fort Worth natives and our out of town visitors. A bonus is the fact that this place is really kid-friendly, allowing youngsters a little freedom to move around or dance while parents enjoy their meal.– Jay D., Fort Worth, TX
The Best of Germany: I’ve been to Edelweiss more times than I can count. It’s our tradition for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, special occasions or any reason whatsoever. The owner, Bernd, has truly never met a stranger and you will feel that the moment you walk in. He personally makes sure your dinner is absolutly perfect! The portions are HUGE I’ve never left without at least a couple of boxes of leftovers. The streudel is to die for and Carol makes an awesome Brandy Ice! Bernd has a large authentic Biergarten with fireplace, cozy corners and a big screen TV. The dance floor is always rockin’ with festive polka and “Chicken Dancers.” So come eat, drink, dance, sing, laugh and enjoy! You’ll be glad you did!!!— Jamie S., Fort Worth, TX
